Israel Kamakawiwo`ole
Israel Kamakawiwo`ole (1959 - 1997) was a wonderful musician from Hawai'i. My personal favorite, like many, is his version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World". That is the song that first brought IZ to my attention.
This is one of my favorite pictures of him. It shows the shear joy of human contact and allowing another to give to you. May he have that joy and peace on the other side of the veil.

In my Googling, I saw lots of pics and a few videos of Iz, and he always looked peaceful and joyful in all of them. I didn't see this one though, and you're right, it's especially excellent. I think I need to make a trip to the CD store.

I reckommend Facing Future. that is the CD I have and it is known as his 'best'. It is also the one that has the Over the Rainbow/Wonderful Life song.
