Bee Food

I get the great joy of making 5 gallons of bee food today. Yes...bee food. The season has been poor for flowering plants and the bees that my boss raises are starving. So, I get to make food for them. It is very much like hummingbird food. Two parts sugar to one part water, heat until dissolved, cool, and serve. It is kind of fun for me. I enjoy helping the litter critters.

Want to guess how much sugar it takes to fill the 5 gallon bucket with the bee food? Tune in next time for the answer.

Itchy Scratchies

My middle dog, aka yellor dog, has a bad case of the Itchy Scratchies. She has had allergies as long as I have had her, yet this fall is the worst I have seen it. She has scratched so hard that she has wounds on her chest from her nails and bruises on her legs from biting. Obviously, what I am doing for her, at this time, is not working. I have a call in to the vet to see what else can be done for the poor girl. Hopefully we will find something soon to releive her Itchy Sctachies.

An Evening with Wynne Paris

I have been enjoying a new style of music, for me. Here’s the tag line for the most recent event.

Sacred Chant: An Evening of Kirtan & Meditation with Wynne Paris

Kirtan, as I have learned, is the form of chant where the leader chants/sings a line and the participants echo/respond. Most of the chants were Hindu, yet some were in English. Wynne Paris has been doing this style of performance for many years. If you want more info on him or his style of music, google him. He has a couple of sites.

If the Buhda Dated

The book I am reading now is 'If the Buddha Dated'. I must admit, thought, that I am having a bit of a time really getting into it. When the book starts out by saying 'Buddha wouldn't have dated', then goes from there. . . something is just wrong.

This is one of those books that I may not bother to finish. Which I know, in some circles, is a cardinal sin, to not finish a book. With this one, I may risk it. Too many other books that are good and worth my precious reading time.
