C'è nevica!!!

It's snowing!!!

Yesterday it was forecast for snow starting around midnight, so the entire state started closing. The place where I work even cancelled a conference we were hosting. Today most of the city, much less the state, is closed. It did not start snowing until after 2:30 this morning. (Don't ask how I know that. Between the full moon and hot flashes, I was awake and out of bed.) We have about 5 inches on the ground and it continues to snow. The forecast is for another 2 to 3 inches. This is the most snow I have seen here since moving here 7 years ago. I plan on going out and playing in the beautiful white fluffy stuff. I am going to chase me dogs until they are white, covered in snow. Here are a couple preliminary pictures.

SunRae's Baby Pictures

I have been going thru some old pictures and came across these pictures of SunRae when she was a puppy.

Poor bored puppy, just laying on top of her toys. Nothing to do.

I gave her a toy you pull the string and it vibrates. She is not sure what to do with it. It feels funny.

Rae decided to put the toy in her mouth, since she is teething. (You can see she is teething because the tips of her ears are curling.)

She decides she likes it. It feels good.

Rae figures out how to pull the string herself. She doesn't need any slow human to pull the string for her.

And she pulls, and pulls again, and pulls again, until she pulls the string out and breaks the vibrating part of the toy.

Back to poor puppy with no toys to play with.

go lay down - used more for 'go find a comfortable place and lay down' rather than 'down' which means 'lay down right here, right now'.

Miesha and Stimpy

The night of Wednesday 6 January 2010, Miesha and Stimpy transitioned to the other side. Miesha transitioned after the rapid progression of a tumor on her spine left her paralyzed in the back legs and in excruciating pain. Stimpy transitioned after dealing with lymphoma for several months. They both will be missed.
