Rest In Peace, Carly

My brother and sister-in-law's dog, Carly, was euthanized yesterday. She was almost 15 years old, and had lived a good life. Here are some things I remember about Carly.

She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. Except the UPS driver.

She was a bed hog. If you moved over just a little in bed to get a little room to yourself, she would move into the space so she could be right up against you all the time.

She taught my husky how to swim.

She demanded her lovies. If you were petting her and stopped, she would hit your hand with her nose to tell you she wanted more.

She would run down to the river to ..... pee.

She loved to ride in any boat. John boat, pontoon boat, jet ski, it didn't matter. If it was on the water and moving, she wanted to be in or on it.

She loved to go hunting.

Williamsburg Wreaths

Yesterday, a friend of mine, and her parents, invited me to join them on a trip to Williamsburg to see the holiday wreaths of Colonial Williamsburg. The wreaths have to be made of materials they had back in the late 1700s. They are amazing pieces of art. My photos do not do them justice.

Yes, the garland that you see around this door is made for Sweet Gum 'gum balls' or 'monkey balls'. Around here, they are very plentiful.

Half Way Done

Last week while I was having my third treatment, these fine critters where there to make sure things went well.

I enjoyed seeing them there. They are not the usual window art at this time of season. I enjoyed them. Also, as you can see, when I am at treatment, I do have windows I can look out. For me, that is great, because I am there for somewhere between 5 and 6 hours. I would get a little claustrophobic if I were closed in an interior room with no windows.

This is the set of Holiday Lawn Art that I like on my street. I especially like the deer.

The Wreath On Your Own Front Door

I have been feeling a bit Hum Bug, this year. I decided that I needed to try to get in the spirit, so I went out and bought a wreath for my front door. It even smells nice when I open the door. The pine scent in contained between the storm door and the front door, allowing me to enjoy the fragrance each time I open the door.

Cast Your Vote

Here are some pictures of the two wigs I have. Cast your vote for the one you like best: the one with bangs; or the shorter one.

The wig with bangs.

I don't really like this picture, yet it lets you see how the wig is cut up in the back. It's called a 'swing bob'.

The shorter wig.
