Happy May Day
My one rogue rose is blooming, again, and so are most of my azaleas. What a beautiful May Day bouquet of flowers.

Adventure NOT to be repeated

A week ago I was scheduled for surgery. I have a tumor that has to be removed. I started the pre-op meds, as directed by my doctor, at 10 a.m. By 3 p.m. I was starting to feel sort of bad. I continued the meds as best I could. I called the doctor's office and said I was having troubles. They said I had to take them and just do the best I could. So, I continued to try. By 5 p.m. I was vomiting. By then the doctors office was closed. So a call was made to the doctor on call. Again, was told I had to do it, there is nothing else. Be 8 p.m. I was very ill. Another call to the doctor on call. Same answer. Waited a couple more hours. Still throwing up. Tried calling the doctor, one more time. This time he would not even return the call. Finally around 10 p.m. made the decision to go the Emergency Room at the hospital. Good thing. My system had shut down. I had a case of either gastro enteritis or a small bowel obstruction. Ended up having my stomach pumped to try to relieve some of the pressure, which did not yield much because I had been vomiting. Yet, they left the NG tube in to continue to work. They admitted me to the hospital. Needless to say, surgery was cancelled. I was not in any condition to have the surgery.
I was finally released from the hospital after about 20 hours, no sleep and the disappointment that I could not have surgery as scheduled. So, now surgery is rescheduled for early June. When I get to try this again, they are going to admit me to the hospital the day before surgery, change the pre-op meds, and have me take them there in the hospital under medical supervision. At least now they believe me that I am sensitive to things like this, and I am not the whiner they had me pegged for.
